Triple Chocolate Brownie with Macadamia Nut Honey Butter Bourbon Glaze
Ingredients for the brownies
- 1 stick unsalted butter (cut into cubes)
- 2 oz. unsweetened dark chocolate (roughly chopped)
- 3 oz. bittersweet chocolate (roughly chopped)
- 1 cup semisweet chocolate chips
- 2 large eggs
- 1 cup packed light brown sugar
- 2 Tbsp. honey
- 1 tsp. vanilla extract
- 1 1/4 cup almond flour
- 1/4 tsp. baking soda
- 1/4 tsp. sea salt
- 1 cup roughly chopped macadamia nuts
Baking Directions for the brownies
1. Position baking rack in the center of the oven
2. Preheat over to 350 degrees
3. Lightly butter and flour a 8" square baking pan, tapping out excess flour
4. In a medium bowl, mix almond flour, baking soda and sea salt, set aside
5.In a saucepan over low heat, melt the butter completely. Remove from heat, add the unsweetened and bittersweet chopped chocolate. Let stand for a few seconds, whisk until smooth. Set aside and let cool for about 10 minutes.
6. In a medium bowl, using a handheld electric beater, beat eggs, brown sugar, and honey for 2 minutes until light in color. Add vanilla, chocolate mixture, beat just until blended! Using a spoon, stir in almond flour, baking soda, salt, just until well blended.
7. Stir in semisweet chocolate chips.
8. Spread batter evenly in baking pan.
9. Sprinkle top with roughly chopped macadamia nuts.
10. Bake for 25 minutes.
11. Remove from oven and let cool.
Ingredients for glaze
- 1 cup brown sugar firmly packed
- 1 cup brown cane raw sugar
- 1 cup water
- 1 cup Bourbon (if serving to adults) 1/4 cup Bourbon (if serving to kids)
- 1 tsp. vanilla extract
- 1/2 cup Banan Macadamia Nut Honey Butter
- pinch of salt
Directions
1. Bring sugars and water to a boil in a saucepan. Boil on medium-high, cook syrup for 10 minutes or until reduced by half. Add vanilla. Remove from heat and add Bourbon.
2. Mix Bourbon syrup with macadamia nut honey butter, and salt.
3. Spread over the top of the cooled brownies
